Bollywood Actress Raveena Tandon has a twitter account and isn’t afraid of using it. She has taken a stand on numerous issues like Award Wapsi, Dadri killing etc and has recently been very vocal. This is in line with other creative people coming up and saying what they feel and it is a welcome sign that we have more people discussing and debating issues. On the back of her social media exploits Raveena often finds herself of TV debates as well. Celebs on social media often get flak from trolls, but this time even journalists joined in the abuse.
Yesterday Raveena Tandon tweeted the following:
Let’s cut the BS-why can’t these people openly say that they weren’t happy since d day Modi became PM..instead of shaming the whole country

Really-have the guts to say it openly, instead of dragging the whole country’s image down,I don’t have a problem with any form of protest.. — Raveena Tandon (@TandonRaveena) November 24, 2015
Soon, Priyanka Chaturvedi, a national spokesperson of Congress, instead of debating Raveena’s arguments, decided to attack Raveena directly and dismissed her as a “BJP sympathiser”. Raveena quickly pointed out that she had campaigned for Congress on numerous occasions and was offered prime seats from many parties so it is unfair to slot her with one party.
@priyankac19 dear Priyanka, campaigned for some of your senior colleagues last elections/ who I believed genuinely did some good work 1/1 — Raveena Tandon (@TandonRaveena) November 24, 2015

A few weeks ago, Journalists Rana Ayyub and Barkha Dutt, while discussing about Raveena, had made a few uncharitable remarks about her:
@BDUTT as they said, rascality has its limits, stupidity none
— Rana Ayyub (@RanaAyyub) November 6, 2015
Raveena apparently mentioned this on a TV debate and immediately was theatened with a defamation suit by Rana Ayyub:
and next time you hurl those imaginary allegations on live tv @TandonRaveena , do remember that something like defamation law exists !
— Rana Ayyub (@RanaAyyub) November 24, 2015
Ironically this defamation suit threat comes from the same Rana Ayyub who screams intolerance is rising, and from the same Rana Ayyub who had defamed Mohan Bhagwat saying he was behind the Bengal Church “attack”, whereas fact is, it was done by Bangladeshis.
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsAs the day progressed more journalists came out attacking Raveena Tandon. Assisstant Executive Editor at Mail Today had these distasteful, sexits remarks about Raveena Tandon, calling her a “Yummy Mummy”:
Difficult to imagine Raveena Tandon as a thought leader. Yummy Mummy should stick to entertainment. #AamirOnIntolerance — deep halder (@daipayanhalder) November 24, 2015
If journalists are showing the way, how can trolls be far away? Raveena also received abusive messages from scores of faceless trolls.
