The Indian Armed forces notched a major success after they successfully eliminated top Lashkar terrorist Abu Dujana. This encounter took place in Hakripora village of the Pulwama district in Kashmir earlier today.
One of Dujana’s accomplice cum Lashkar terrorist, Arif Lilhaari too was eliminated by the security forces. This encounter is monumental as Dujana, who was the LeT’s Divisional Commander of South Kashmir, had till date closely slipped from the hands of security forces on 5 different occasions. The security forces had come close to capturing Dujana in May but he was unfortunately provided cover by a stone-pelting mob which helped him escape.
This time he wasn’t very lucky. Dujana, aged 27, and his accomplice were holed up in a white building during a cordon and search operation launched by the security forces. The television cameras present there showed smoke rising from the house where he had gone to meet a woman, who was allegedly his wife.
Dujana hailed from the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and as reported earlier, belonged to the list of 12 dreaded terrorists that was recently released by the Indian army. The list classified Dujana as an A++ terrorist who was active in the valley since December, 2014. Dujana also carried a reward of Rs 15 lakh on his head. The death of Dujana means that the forces have killed 102 terrorists this year, which is the highest as compared to the past 7 years.
The security forces adopted a very shrewd procedure to capture Dujana. The Jammu And Kashmir police knew that he used to go and meet his alleged wife as per a set pattern of timing and pre-arrival locational environment. After the police received Intel of him entering the house, they proceeded to surround it on the wee hours of Tuesday and covertly waited 2 hours for the reinforcements to arrive.
Then the police and its special operations group started the operation on 4:30 AM with the help of the 182 Battalion, 183 Battalion, CRPF and 55 Rashtriya Rifles. The security forces then blew up the house in order to weed out the holed up terrorists.
The klling of Dujana was was announced by the Northern Command of the Indian army who also stated that the operation was still underway, meaning that there might well be more terrorists in that region:

J Sandhu, the General Officer Commanding(GOC), in a statement to the media stated that Dujana wan’t involved in many attacks and liked to indulge in aiyashi or debauchery. He also called Dujana a nuisance and threat to local women.
