A week after the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh in Bengalaru, a BJP booth president, Soumitra Ghoshal was allegedly murdered in Baruipur, West Bengal, and there has been complete silence over the same in mainstream media.

BJP leader and Member of Parliament, Roopa Ganguly, too tweeted a graphic image of Ghoshal saying that the local BJP councillor and karyakartas have lodged a case.

While few leaders raised their voice, the mainstream journalists have been completely silent on the same.
This is so very sad. Appeasement politics taking human lives. A human being murdered. @MamataOfficial should ensure justice. https://t.co/58hbyZ47LA

The journalists who had gone all guns blazing on murder of Lankesh are mum on this incident.

However, few media houses have finally reported the incident, days after it took place. Sayantan Basu, convenor of BJP’s media management cell, alleged that Trinamool backed local ‘hooligans’ were behind the murder. He also alleged that since Ghoshal was successfully expanding BJP’s network in the area, the local Trinamool leaders got him killed.
Bengal has a history of political murders and despite that, the silence of Mamata Banerjee on this is disappointing.
