In recent days fortunes of the Lalu Prasad Yadav led Rashtrya Janta Dal (RJD) have taken a turn for the worse.
After staying out of power for a decade, the RJD was back in power in 2015 with the help of its alliance partner Janta Dal United (JDU). Back then various experts felt that it may signal the beginning of a new era for the party, which now had two young sons of Lalu named Tejaswi and Tej Pratap, on the forefront of the government.
Everything crumbled in July after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar decided to walk out of the “Mahagathbandhan” and immediately joined hands with former allies BJP to form a fresh government.
As if this loss of power wasn’t enough, the Lalu family was also suffering a blow with the CBI filing cases against Lalu, Rabri and Tejaswai and raiding 12 locations in connection with it. Apart from this, the Enforcement Directorate had raided Lalu’s daughter Misa’s residence. Income Tax department had also seized the Benami assets of Misa and Tejaswi.
Now the Lalu family is in the news again for the wrong reasons after it has been reported that Rabri Devi and Tej Pratap Yadav have been issuing violent threats against top BJP leaders.
On Tuesday, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi had made a very violent public statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by claiming that there are many people in Bihar who are ready to chop Narendra Modi’s hand and slit his throat. She further claimed that people of Bihar would go to jail together:

These remarks were supposedly a response to BJP’s Bihar president and MP Nityanand Rai who had stated that, all fingers and hands raised against the prime minister should be broken or chopped off.
Rabri’s son Tej Pratap Yadav who used to hold important portfolios like health and environment seems to be in a pursuit to outdo his mother.
As per reports, he has outright threatened to assault Bihar Dy. CM Sushil Modi and also sworn to set Modi’s house on fire on the day of his son’s wedding:
We are not scared our fight will go on, will enter his house & beat him up. If I go to his son’s marriage I will expose him: Tej Pratap Yadav on Bihar Dy CM Sushil Modi pic.twitter.com/WNPvyDxAIi

Sushil Modi’s son is getting married on 3rd December and unlike the marriages of other politicians, it would be a low key affair. This includes having no dance, music and the guests would be served Prasad.
Tej Pratap though decided to cast an evil eye on the whole affair by uttering such a threat during a public meeting in Aurangabad in south-central Bihar. The justification provided by him for planning to carry out such an heinous act is that he wants to expose Sushil Modi’s supposed ill-gotten wealth.
