Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who was recently slammed for playing vote bank politics on Twitter, today made a ‘joke’ on Manushi Chhillar, the Haryanvi girl who won the Miss World beauty pageant title yesterday, while trying to take a dig on Indian economy by mocking demonetisation move by Modi government.
What a mistake to demonetise our currency! BJP should have realised that Indian cash dominates the globe: look, even our Chhillar has become Miss World!
— Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) November 19, 2017
Rating agency Moody’s which recently upgraded India’s rating, has been a talk of the town. So much that the communists from his home state Kerala, which boasts of highest literacy rate, could not differentiate between Moody’s, the agency and Tom Moody, the cricketer, and started abusing the latter.
But people were not impressed with the lame, misogynist wordplay and called him out on the same.
Some were brutal,
You called your wife priceless, she died. Miss World has a long life as you called her chillar https://t.co/KeYhp5u0v3

Person accused of killing her own wife now showing disrespect towards lady who brought glory to the nation. Reason why congress will sink

Your sense of humor is as lame as your “scholarship” try something better.

While others expressed their views that mocking a private individual like this is quite unbecoming of an MP.
Totally dis respectfully comment from MP .

This just shows how you look at women! Chillar is Manushi’s Family name and not something to make fun of!

And some mocked Tharoor.

If he speaks like a dumb person, behaves like a dumb person, tweets like a dumb person then he must be an ex-Under Secretary at the United Nations. https://t.co/TT9x8RJPM3

Ouch! Social media is unforgiving. Perhaps a good time for Tharoor to learn the difference between चिल्लर and छिल्लर from Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s Hindi tutor.
