Gauri Lankesh’s brother boycotts ‘Gauri day’, plans to approach HC for CBI investigation

On the birthday of Gauri Lankesh, ‘Gauri Day’ was organised at Town Hall of Bengaluru. Politician Jignesh Mewani, controversial actor Prakash Raj , Kavita Lankesh (Gauri’s sister), JNU loiterers Shehla Rashid, Kanhaiya Kumar and others were present at the event. They did not question the state government as to why the culprits are not caught. Instead they spoke about Modi, Priyanka Chopra and politics.

“We are now Gauri Parivar and we will destroy Sangh Parivar,” said Kanhaiya Kumar to thunderous applause even as he took jibes at Prime Minister Modi calling him out for “abandoning his wife while clicking pictures with Chopra” (Priyanka) – as reported by OneIndia.

The main agenda of the event was about politics and not about getting justice for the slain journalist Gauri Lankesh. The funding for this programme, travel expenses and accommodation for invitees is a cause of concern for all vigilant citizens as the media advisor of Siddaramiah Dinesh Amin Mattu was present at the event.

Gauri Lankesh’s brother plans to go to HC for a CBI investigation

Gauri Lankesh’s brother Indrajit Lankesh, boycotted the event and claimed that the event was sponsored by Siddaramiah and the investigation was going only in the direction in which they wanted it to go. He told Republic that he contacted the SIT chief but did not get any response. Indrajit said that he would approach HC to ask for a CBI investigation and ensure a fair trial. Interestingly, Gauri Lankesh’s sister Kavita Lankesh is happy with the SIT.

Indrajit Lankesh shouted down on Republic channel by Leftists.

Indrajit Lankesh criticised the program and its participants in a panel discussion on Republic TV. Gauri’s brother was accused of being an RSS/BJP by some panelists. He cleared this allegation and spoke his mind on ‘Gauri day’. He said [Starting at 28:40]  :

I am neither a BJP or Congress man. Today is Gauri’s birthday. It has been five months. There has been no inroads in this case. Today there was a function in her name and the least that I expected was from this group to ask the state government about the investigation and her killers. But the only thing they talked about was Modi , Modi and Modi. This is very sad because Gauri Lankesh stage was used for their political advantage.

Gauri Lankesh’s brother was continuously interrupted by leftists on the panel and not allowed to speak freely. In spite of this, he went to complete his statement as below

“I don’t want to go to a function sponsored by Sidaramiah where I cannot ask questions about the investigation. I want to ask question to Siddaramiah not Modiji. Shouldn’t they first ask question about the investigation. More than talking about Modi and Priyanka Chopra they should have asked about the investigation. They are using Gauri for their political advantage”.

He criticised the request of leftists who asked people to kick out Modi in the Gauri function. Indrajit also asked why Prakash Raj did not go to his home town Mangalore and offer condolences to families of  Basheer and Deepak Rao who were killed because of communal violence.

“There was a minor dalit girl who was raped in Bijapur and killed . Why is the Dalit leader who came to Gauri function did not go to Bijapur to give condolations to the families,” he asked on the panel discussion.

He also said that he had visited these families and given his condolations because he knew how it feels to lose a person in his family.

Gauri Lankesh death is being politicised

The political doublespeak and hypocrisy of the left is well known. But the case of Gauri Lankesh unravels a more sinister face of the left propagandists. For them the death of their friend is an opportunity for gaining political mileage. It appears that the gang led by Prakash Raj, Jignesh Mewani and JNU loiterers is more inclined towards anti modi campaign rather than securing justice for their slain friend Gauri Lankesh.
