The principal of the madarsa says that it is a modern madrasa and other subjects like maths, science, English and Hindi are also taught there. He added that Arabic, too, is taught and it is under the UP Education Board. Interestingly, a Muslim teacher is hired to teach Sanskrit in the madarsa.
The students also say they feel good to learn Sanskrit.

They say even their parents help them in learning the language.
Modernising madarsas has been remained a major policy initiative of the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh. To bring madarsas at par with other institutions, the govt has introduced NCERT books in their curriculum and made maths and science compulsory at intermediate level. The government has also been cracking down on ‘fake’ madarsas by initiating online registration of minority institutions.
