A Hindu youth who decided to convert to Islam after being promised marriage has been reconverted back to Hinduism due to efforts by Hindu groups like ‘Bajrang Dal’ and ‘Hindu Sangathan’. This incident has been reported from Shamli’s Vishwakarma Nagar locality in Uttar Pradesh.
As per reports, the youth named Pawan fell in love with a Muslim girl and wanted to marry her. The girl’s family members though were adamant that he needed to convert to Islam for the wedding to take place. After being repeatedly pressurised of the same, the youth relented and converted to Islam. Following this, a Muslim cleric also submitted a religious conversion petition in the Muzaffarnagar court.
This created a flutter within various Hindu groups who then reached his home to persuade him to change his mind. As per a report by Oneindia, the youth Pawan who later became Aamir was then asked by the Bajrang Dal activists to not go ahead with his religious conversion. Pawan though was seen declining, following which some of the activists landed a few blows on him.
Later things calmed down and Hindu activists started to educate him about Hinduism. There the youth was seen confessing that he became a Muslim after uttering Islamic verses. He then drew a blank when quizzed as to whether he was aware of Hindu shlokas like Mahamritunjaya jap and the Hanuman Chalisa.
After being extensively educated in the matter, Pawan decided to re-embrace Hinduism, with videos capturing him getting his beard shaved. In the corresponding clip, he is seen donning a Tilak and chanting slogans like, “Jai Sri Ram” and “Har Har Mahadev”.
Following the completion of the process, Pawan recounted that he didn’t like being a Muslim and hence returned back to the religion of his birth. As per a Bajrangi Dal’s district official Sunny Sharma, the youth was converted to Islam after being falsely promised a marriage and a job.
Sunny thus asserted that they won’t allow such conversions of Hindu youths and in context of Pawan claimed that he has given an assurance that he would remain a Hindu. Sunny also claimed that Pawan would later be taken to a temple for a purification ceremony.
