Congress mouthpiece National Herald, which has earlier indulged in spreading blatant lies and distorting facts, today came out with an article in support of the bigoted racist masquerading as a historian Audrey Truschke, who called Lord Rama a pig. Audrey Truschke a supposed historian who is best known for whitewashing the crimes of barbaric Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, cooked up a storm on Friday by alleging that Lord Ram was called a “misogynistic pig” by Sita while she when through her Agnipariksha (a trial by fire). However, after Twitter users called it out, National Herald deleted the tweet as well as the article.
In the now deleted article in support of racist Hinduphobe, Audrey Truschke, @NH_India – the @INCIndia mouthpiece – called Ms Truschke a "Eminent historian" & "acclaimed Sanskrit scholar", and those who protested her calling Lord Rama a "misogynist pig" as "trolls".

However, a cached version of the article available here refers to pro-Aurangzeb Audrey as ’eminent historian and Sanskrit scholar’. National Herald defended her insult to Lord Ram as ‘merely using her mastery over the language and her extensive research in primary and secondary sources to interpret a literary text.’ and accused those who disagreed with her as ‘trolls’ who ‘seldom understand what a serious scholar is trying to say’.
However, in a surprise move, National Herald has deleted the article as well as the tweet plugging the article.
This is not the first time Congress has shown itself to be anti-Hindu against Lord Ram. Earlier in 2007, when Congress was in power at the Centre, Congress had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court saying there is no historical proof of Lord Ram’s existence. In fact, BJP’s Subramanian Swamy has also accused Congress is deliberately delaying the Ayodhya temple verdict since 2019 elections are just round the corner.
