Raghuram Rajan, the former governor of Reserve Bank of India has reportedly been invited to speak at an event organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. According to reports, the former RBI chief has been invited to speak at the World Hindu Congress to be held at Chicago in September this year.
The World Hindu Congress will be held in Chicago to commemorate 125 years of Swami Vivekanand’s historic address to the Parliament of World Religions. Organisers of the event have reportedly told that Rajan has informed that he will try to accept the invitation and they are hopeful. Rajan is yet to confirm it officially.
It is notable that Raghuram Rajan was the Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business before being appointed as the governor of RBI and he has reportedly returned to his post at the institution after serving his term in the RBI.
Recently it was also confirmed that former President Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to make the valedictory address of the Third Year Sangha Shiksha Varga of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at Nagpur on June 7. The Congress reactions to the former President attending an RSS event have been less than dignified.
