This is not the first time that the son of a Congress leader has been accused of being involved in the assault. Earlier in February, son of a Congress MLA, Muhammad Haris Nalapad, was accused of brutally assaulting a person at a pub after an argument. Nalapad was himself a Youth Congress leader. Another woman had alleged that she had been assaulted by Nalapad and his supporters but had not received help from any quarters. She even claimed that she was receiving death threats from Nalapad and his supporters. Another Congress leader and her son in Uttarakhand were accused of kidnapping a girl after which the mother was sent to judicial custody.
