Shia Waqf Board Chairman accuses Sunni Muslims of illegally capturing Shia properties: Times Now

Shia Waqf Board Chief, Wasim Rizvi, has alleged that the Sunni community has been targeting Shias, misusing their Waqf property and capturing them illegally. Rizvi has asserted that they are currently investigating the matter of Sunnis illegally renting out and selling Shia Waqf Board properties. He has also alleged that many graveyards of the Shia community have been captured by the Sunnis where Shias cannot bury their dead but the Sunnis have taken them over their own burial purposes.

Majeed Memon of the NCP has dubbed the diktats meaningless and stated that the Shia Waqf Board is no one to punish the extremists as the latter has claimed they would do.

Wasim Rizvi has recently launched India’s first Shia political party while distancing the Shia community from ‘extremist Sunnis’ who he accused of not considering Shias as Muslims. We have also reported earlier that the Shia community has been inching closer towards the Hindutva agenda of the Bharatiya Janata Party and supported the party on many core issues such as the ban on cow slaughter, Triple Talaq and the Ram Janambhoomi case.
