Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has come out all guns blazing against bigotry of Muslim invaders like Aurangzeb. He targeted Aurangzeb for his unjust policies and spoke about how the Mughal invader forcefully tried to change Kashmiri Pandits’ religion.
When Aurangzeb began torturing Kashmiri Pandits, to free themselves, a group of Kashmiri Pandits met Guru Tegh Bahadur in Delhi & told him about their sufferings & how they were being forcibly converted: UP CM Yogi Adityanath at a rally in Lucknow (27.06.18) pic.twitter.com/UGv3QbCNYQ

Yogi Adityanath, who was addressing a gathering of Banjaras in Lucknow, said how Aurangzeb tortured the Pandit community. He also said that a group of Kashmiri Pandits had met the ninth of the ten Sikh Gurus, Guru Tegh Bahadur, in Delhi and sought his help to avoid forceful religious conversions.
The chief minister said,“Kashmiri Panditon par jab Aurangzeb ka atyachar prarambh hua tha, Aurangzeb se mukti ke liye Kanshmiri Panditon ka ek group Guru Tegh Bahadur ke paas Delhi mein aata hai aur apni peeda batata hai ki jabardasti humara dharmantran ho raha hai, humein dabaya ja raha hai… apmanit kiya ja raha”
Earlier, Yogi Adityanath had also slammed the policies of Akbar while hailing the Rajput King of Mewar, Maharana Pratap for his role in India’s history. Yogi Adityanath spoke highly of Maharana Pratap’s bravery and persistence in fighting against his enemies. He had also said that Akbar was a foreigner and said that the Mewar king never accepted Akbar as the king as he was a ‘Turk who could not be trusted’.
There have been concentrated efforts to whitewash the crimes of Aurangzeb, one of the most brutal and fanatical of all Mughal kings and paint him as a misunderstood ruler. We had earlier written how Aurangzeb wasn’t really as secular as he is made out to be by his sympathisers. BJP MP Maheish Girri had also earlier referred to Aurangzeb as a terrorist.
