Nakhua has stated that he has been suffering from polio since childhood and Ravi Srivastav’s comments were intentionally targeted to demean him and mock his disability. The FIR has been filed under section 92 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
Nakhua and Srivastav had both appeared for a live debate on Times Now on 16th July on the issue of Rajiv Gandhi being criticised in the Netflix series ‘Sacred Games’ and Congress supporters trying to stop criticism by filing a complaint on the showrunners.
Srivastav had tweeted that criticising Rajiv Gandhi was futile and had added that had Nehru and Indira not administer polio drops to Nakhua, he would not be sitting there.
It is notable here that the Netflix show ‘Sacred Games’ had a scene where the narrator Nawazuddin Siddiqui states that Rajiv Gandhi was a ‘fattu’ which was mentioned as ‘pussy’ in the subtitles) who threw Shah Bano to be harassed by Maulanas after she won her case. Congress workers had filed a complaint against the show claiming it has defamed the party.
