Social media has evolved from just ‘networking sites’ to a place where one can reach out to authorities in times of trouble and expect action. While law enforcement agencies have at times resorted to witty memes to create awareness and giving out friendly advice to youngsters, recently, Uttar Pradesh Police paid heed to a tweet where Uttar Pradesh traffic police personnel were caught on camera breaking traffic rules and abusing the person who was video recording the incident.
Taking note of the incident, the Uttar Pradesh Police took cognisance of the incident and an FIR has been registered against the two traffic home guards and a PRD jawan.

Recently, Delhi Police, too, caught Rohit Tomar, who was allegedly beating a woman in a video that went viral on social media. Unfortunately, though, it took a tweet from Home Minister Rajnath Singh acknowledging the clip to get the police to act upon it.
