Hafiz Saeed instigates India again: Summons prayer meeting for neutralised terrorist Manan Wani

Lashkar-e-Taiba commander-in-chief and mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks - Hafiz Saeed was allegedly sighted summoning a prayer meeting for slain terrorist Manan Wani in Pakistan.

Lashkar-e-Taiba commander-in-chief and mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks – Hafiz Saeed was allegedly sighted summoning a prayer meeting for slain terrorist Manan Wani in Pakistan.

In the latest video released by him, he refers to Wani and other Kashmiri terrorists as ‘Jihadi’, which is being considered as another attempt at instigating India. Similar prayer services were held in almost 31 cities of Pakistan, with participants displaying anti-India posters and slogans.

“Our great brother, now a martyr, a PhD Dr Mannan Wani has defied the notion that merely some poor, illiterate destitute take part in ‘Jihad’. Now our Kashmiri brethren are breaking free of the chains of slavery. The momentum is changing,” Saeed said.

A resident of Tikipora village in Kupwara district in J&K, and a PhD scholar at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Wani was killed in an encounter at Shatgund Bala village. According to media reports, he was spotted with terrorists of Hizb-ul Mujahideen in south Kashmir in January this year, in possession of an AK 47 rifle. As a result of these sightings, a joined operation was launched by the J&K police’s Special Operation Group, with retaliation from the terrorist troops in hiding.  After a series of firings and repeated announcements to the troops to surrender, the police forces managed to enter the areas in which the terrorists had been shooting from, resulting in a fresh encounter with Manan Wani and his associate Ashiq Hussain Zarger.

As the operation ended, both the bodies were recovered by the police, leading to clashes breaking out in the village where the encounter had occurred. The police used tear gas shells to disperse the protesters, shut down schools and colleges in the Kupwara and Baramulla district and also snapped the internet connectivity in Sogam, where Wani lived.

According to a few AMU authorities, when three Kashmiri students attempted to hold funeral prayers for Wani inside their campus, they were suspended by the university and were booked on sedition charges.

While Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq announced a shutdown on Friday over the killing of Wani, former chief minister of J&K asked the Indian police officials and political parties to resolve the issue via dialogue with all the stakeholders, deeming the death of Wani as “our loss.”

Hafiz Saeed, the terror mastermind who has been shielded by Pakistan even after perpetuating the worst terror crimes against India, has long adopted the policy of bleeding India with a thousand cuts and foment internal trouble in India.
