In a shocking incident that transpired in front of gate no.1 of the secretariat annexe building in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim cleric carrying a knife, identified as Rafiq Ahmed, sat on the middle of the road, read namaz and later hurled abuses at PM Modi and the Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath who was incidentally present in the building at that time.
What is being seen as a major security lapse is that the incident took place in front of the secretariat, which is supposed to be a high-security zone.
While it was reported that a man wearing a green turban came riding on a scooter, sat in the middle of the road, disturbing the regular traffic, read namaz and then hurled abuses at the Government, what is shocking is that the police personnel standing there kept staring without taking any action against the culprit.
At the time of this incident, the Chief Minister was holding a meeting of officials in the secretariat (annexe).
However, taking a note of the incident Hazratganj, Lucknow SSP, Kalanidhi Naithani, suspended two officers on duty, namely constable Manoj Kumar and Anand Prakash.
