Watch: Video footage of Mor Mokut Sharma, DD journo who escaped death in Naxal attack yesterday

"I don't know why, but despite seeing death right in the face, I am not afraid," Mor Mukut Sharma, the brave Doordarshan journalist who survived yesterday's Naxal attack in Dantewada

A day after the heartbreaking Naxal attack that claimed life of a Doordarshan journalist Achutyananda Sahu and two CRPF personnel, a chilling video footage shot by another Doordarshan crew member Mor Mukut Sharma has emerged which captures those terrifying moments.

In the video, Sharma could be heard saying that there is a terrorist attack and he is lying in that position to avoid detection. “We had come to Dantewada and were passing by and the army was with us. Suddenly we were surrounded by Naxals,” Sharma could be heard saying amidst gunshots.

When he thought he is going to die, he reached out to the one he loves the most, his mother. Speaking to his mother, he said he is not sure if he would come out of this terror attack alive. “Mummy I love you a lot. It is possible that I die in this attack. The situation is bad. I don’t know why, but despite seeing death right in the face, I am not afraid. It is difficult to come out alive out of this. There are 6-7 soldiers with us and we are surrounded (by Naxals) from every side,” he said in the 90 second video footage.

Sharma, thankfully, managed to come out alive out of the terror attack.
