The BJP in its manifesto for Telangana election has proposed for free distribution of 1 lakh cows in villages during festivals to the families who want them. As per reports, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi in a rally in poll-bound Telangana has mocked the BJP asking whether they will give him a cow too.
A report by Times Now claimed that Owaisi stated that what he does with his cow is his choice. But we could not find a video to verify the claim. Many other media reports have stated that Owaisi has stated that he had stated he will keep his cow with the utmost respect, but the question is whether the BJP will give him one.

The BJP in its manifesto ahead of the December 7 assembly elections, had announced about the proposal. The manifesto also discussed about the proposal of forming a linguistic minority board for the benefit of people who do not speak the official language of the state. BJP’s manifesto committee chairman NVSS Prabhakar stated that cows play an important role in agriculture and rural economy.
The manifesto also reportedly promised the cancellation of surcharge in state-run road transport buses during festivals.
Owaisi has often claimed that the BJP is anti-Muslim. He had recently stirred up a controversy implying that the government does not hire Muslims for serving in the security forces. During the demonetisation in 2016, Owaisi had claimed that the BJP government in the centre is not providing enough cash in the ATMs located in Muslim dominated areas.
Telangana is scheduled to undergo assembly elections in a single phase on December 7. While the incumbent TRS and BJP are fighting solo, Congress and TDP have formed a pre-poll alliance. BJP had also proposed to regulate liquor sales in the state if voted to power. Popular Hindu spiritual leader Swami Paripoornananda has recently joined BJP and is expected to fight in the state assembly elections.
