Tanushree Dutta yet to appear before women’s panel after filing complaint for alleged sexual harassment

Meanwhile, Nana Patekar has responded to the Maharashtra women Commission's notice sent to him last month. He has said all allegations against him are false and are far from the truth.

Actress Tanushree Dutta, who had accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her, is yet to appear and provide her statement before the Maharashtra State Commission For Women regarding alleged sexual harassment occurred during a movie shoot.

According to the reports, The Maharashtra State Commission For Women is examining the future actions to be taken as the actress failed to appear before the commission to investigate the charges, despite an earlier notice served to her.

Vijaya Rahatkar, the Chairperson of the commission said that they have been waiting for her to appear before the Commission for a detailed account to take the case further. “It is a serious case, as an FIR has been lodged and investigations are on. We will discuss with our advocate about how to proceed in the case,” added Rahatkar.

Tanushree Dutta had registered a complaint on October 9 stating that she was allegedly sexually harassed in 2008 on the sets of the film Horn Ok Pleassss. She had claimed that the director and producer backed Nana Patekar on the sets, while Patekar made choreographer Acharya to change the song’s choreography to allegedly get close to Dutta.

Later, the commission had issued a notice to actor Nana Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Sameer Siddiqui and director Rakesh Sarang, to submit their response within 10 days. A notice had also been served to the Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) to explain the necessary procedure taken to address sexual harassment complaints.

Meanwhile, Nana Patekar has responded to the Maharashtra women Commission’s notice sent to him last month. He has said all allegations against him are false and are far from the truth. In his response, Patekar has stated that Dutta’s father filed an FIR in 2008 on an incident involving vandalisation of a vehicle.

We had earlier reported regarding Tanushree Dutta’s notice to Jesus Christ to choose either her or Rakhi Sawant after she had openly stated that Dutta’s claims of being a victim of sexual harassment are not true. Rakhi Sawant had alleged that Tanushree had raped her multiple times. She further alleged that Tanushree is a lesbian who had inappropriately touched her 12 years ago.
