Trouble seems to be intensifying for the Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy for his remark– “kill them mercilessly” in a video that surfaced yesterday. Activist Narsimhamurthy has approached the Human Rights Commission to file a complaint against the Karnataka CM for his threat to call for violence.

The activist questioned the country’s law and constitution and said, “The Chief Minister asked police officials to gun down the killers. We have law and constitution in our country. The procedure of law should be followed, the Chief Minister cannot issue such orders,” Murthy said.
The Chief Minister was on Tuesday caught on camera endorsing lawlessness when he asked to ‘mercilessly’ kill the accused in the murder of a Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) worker. As per media reports, the Chief Minister was apparently issuing orders to a senior police officer following the death of JDS leader Honnalagere Prakash.
Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy was caught in a video instructing someone on the phone ‘He (murdered JDS leader Prakash) was a good man, I don’t know why did they murder him. Kill them (assailants) mercilessly in a shootout, no problem.” However, Kumaraswamy later retracted by claiming that it was his emotional outburst that led his unseemly behaviour. He also claimed that the suspects were wanted in two other murder cases. They were in jail and now they have killed one more person.
H Prakash was a former Zilla Panchayat member and JDS worker who was attacked by four men while he was travelling in his car on Mysuru Road at the highway near Maddur. The attacks reportedly opened the car’s back door, where Prakash was sitting and attacked him with a machete. As per the reports, Prakash survived the attack but later succumbed to the severe injuries at Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences.
