Few weeks earlier, Priyanka Chopra had urged people to skip crackers this Diwali, as it makes life difficult for asthma patients. Chopra herself has been suffering from asthma since childhood.
Twitterati soon pointed out the hypocrisy in Priyanka’s stand.
Congratulations to @Cipla_Global for the groundbreaking invention.@priyankachopra had asthma since age of 5. Firecracker pollution on Diwali made her asthma worse, bt aftr using Cipla inhaler, her asthma got cured within a month, &now she is enjoying firecrackers on her wedding pic.twitter.com/iVxQtAaU4C

Khair, laws are applicable only for the poor and middle class. Ameer logon ke liye kya kanoon aur kya court. Fuck this shit. Person who got arrested because his kids burst a cracker should learn that he should become a Bollywood star for his kids to light a pataakha.

People also took digs on the Supreme Court order which prohibited bursting crackers during Diwali before 8 pm in the national capital.
Wonderful display of secular, non polluting, noiseless, animal friendly, pre 8 pm fireworks in Bollywoodstan. https://t.co/wTME2NuRCx

And the ‘green crackers‘ directed by the Supreme Court.
Amazing ! Oxygen producing crackers…Pretty sure they’ll reduce pollution a few hundred kms away in Delhi… https://t.co/5Fa08D3gEg

Some wondered if any legal action would be taken against her, considering people were arrested during Diwali for far less.
People were arrested for this. Now is time to arrest, let law take its course! https://t.co/pO839NN7vd

The duality of celebrities when it comes to what they preach and what they practice is often pointed out on social media.
