Even as Congress fought the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, it had its own fair share of internal battles. In Madhya Pradesh, swords were drawn between Digvijaya Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia over candidate selection while Scindia and Kamal Nath supporters indulged in poster-wars.
In Rajasthan, too, Congress leaders Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot, both frontrunners in the race to the post of chief minister, had their own share of infighting.
Chief minister hopefuls of both the states have met Congress President Rahul Gandhi and an announcement on the same is expected shortly.
