CM Rupani has stated that Gujarat will implement the 10% reservation for EWS from 14th January onwards. It is to be implemented in all the ongoing recruitment processes where advertisements have been published but the first stage of examinations are yet to be held.
Following the CM’s announcement, Dinesh Dasa, the chairman of the State Public Service Commission, has announced that the preliminary exams to be held on 20th January will be postponed at the wake of the announcement and details regarding the new reservation criteria will be released by the GSPSC shortly.
The Gujarat Public Service Commission would procrastinate all the preliminary exams to be held on 20th January, 2019 and thereafter in the wake of implementation of EWS reservation. The @GPSC_OFFICIAL would release further details from time to time. https://t.co/7K2aTCEIwd

The reservation will not be applicable to government recruitment processes where written/oral or computer proficiency examinations have been conducted before January 14.
The historic constitution (124th Amendment) Bill brought by the NDA government was passed in Lok Sabha on Tuesday last week and in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
President Ramnath Kovind had given his consent to the Bill on Saturday. The 10% reservation for EWS of the general category is to be over and above the reservation granted to SC/ST and OBCs.
