Central Bureau of Investigation has conducted raids at Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Hooda’s residence, in connection with irregularities in land allotments in Gurugram. Hooda, was reportedly present at the scene when CBI started raids at around 8:30 in the morning.
The former CM Hooda is named in a major land deal scam. During the tenure of the Hooda led Congress government in Haryana it was alleged that he and the other accused had acquired over 900 acres of land in Manesar and nearby areas. The land acquisition scam is believed to have caused the farmers a loss of around 1500 crores.
As the news of raids became viral, Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Anand Sharma resorted to issuing threats to investigative agencies.
Anand Sharma, Congress on raids on BS Hooda: Officials must hear this.Govts do not have any permanency. There are few weeks left for the general elections to begin. It is certain this govt is rattled, Prime Minister is staring at an imminent defeat, that’s why these actions. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/ZUAzKsKRrK

“We are warning and cautioning all concerned (Agencies). They should not exceed the brief or take any action outside the ambit of the law of land, in furtherance of the government’s sinister agenda.” Anand Sharma said in the press conference. He added that all officers should be aware of the fact that governments are never permanent and there are only a few weeks left for the general elections. He then labelled the raids as a result of a decision taken by a “rattled prime minister” who is heading towards an “imminent defeat”.
Sharma said that the new government in 2019 will ‘decide’ for officials who have ‘misused power on Modi and Shah’s behalf’.
The Congress leaders words seem a mere extension, of the culture of Congress party that on many past occasions have issued threats to individuals who do not subscribe to their agenda.
In November last year, the central government had appointed Journalist Arnab Goswami as a member of the coveted Nehru Memorial Museum and Library society, the powerful body which controls the Teen Murti Estate. This had led Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha to issue a threat against Goswami and had warned that when his party will be back to power, they will sack him.
“When we win in 2019, this religious bigot, who regularly spews hatred, spreads fake news and polarises society, an RSS–BJP mole masquerading as a TV anchor will be sacked. It is a promise, Arnab Goswami.” Jha had tweeted. Similarly, Congress spokesperson Alok Sharma was also caught live on camera threatening a Zee News journalist that in 2019 (if Congress comes to power) he won’t be able to count how many people will be jailed.
Not only this, in the run-up to Madhya Pradesh assembly elections Congress leader (Now CM of Madhya Pradesh) Kamalnath was seen threatening the government officials of dire consequences if they support BJP. He was seen stating in a rally that when Congress comes to power after the December 11 results, the government staffers would have to face his wrath.
