The ghastly Pulwama terrorist attack didn’t just take away 40 bravehearts defending the nation, it also took away hopes and smiles from the families of the fallen soldiers. Martyr Pradeep Singh Yadav from Kannauj was among those 40 brave soldiers who laid their lives in the service of the nation. Martyr Yadav was traveling with the CRPF convoy which was attacked by the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist. He was talking to his wife over the phone when the explosion happened, quite unaware that this was going to be his last conversation.
“I was talking to him on the phone, suddenly I heard the sound of a blast and the call got disconnected”, recalled Neeraj Yadav, wife of martyr Pradeep Yadav killed in the Pulwama terrorist attack. Stunned by the sound of blast Neeraj tried to call her husband again to check if her husband was fine, but the call did not connect. She told that Yadav was missing the time he spent with his younger daughter Sona.
Yadav was in 115 Battalion in Srinagar and had returned to his duty on February 10 after spending his vacation with his family. He is survived by his two daughters Supriya Yadav (10) and Sona Yadav (2). As Yadav’s mortal remains reached his native village Ajan Sukhsenpur, people gathered in large numbers to pay tribute to him. His family was inconsolable. Yadav’s elder daughter Supriya fainted after lighting the funeral pyre of her father.
Slogans of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and Anti-Pakistan slogans filled the air as the rites of martyr Yadav were performed. Thousands of people from the region had joined the funeral processions to pay respect to the martyr.
