In the aftermath of the horrific terrorist attack on a CRPF convoy at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Rajnath Singh reached Srinagar to pay homage to martyred CRPF soldiers and review the security situation. In an address to the media, the Home Minister expressed solidarity with the families of the slain soldiers. “We stand with the families of the jawans. We salute the bravery of our martyrs. We will succeed in fighting terrorism. We have requested the state governments to help the families of the deceased”, Singh asserted.
In an obvious reference to Kashmiri separatists, Singh said that there are some elements which are in connivance with terrorist organisations and are involved in terror conspiracies.

These comments of the home minister imply that security cover provided to Hurriyat Conference leaders will be reviewed, and may be withdrawn.
Singh announced that for some time, the civilian movement will be stopped when a large convoy of security forces will pass through an area.
