Bihar Congress spokesperson Binod Sharma has tendered his resignation from the party citing the reason that he feels “ashamed” to be called a Congressi after his party asked for the proof of air strikes at Balakot, Pakistan by the Indian Air Force (IAF). He wrote that due to the lack of patriotism and nonchalant attitude of the party workers, people have started viewing Congress party as a Pakistani agent.
Sharma’s resignation addressed to Congress President Rahul Gandhi, read that he tried to convey the feelings of party workers to party leadership but unfortunately no attention was heeded to it. Sharma wrote that the whole country is grief-ridden and enraged after the Pulwama terror attack. He said that at a time when the country is proud of the bravery shown by our soldiers by conducting the airstrikes, it is a “shameless and childish act’ on the part of the party to ask the counts of terrorists who died in the air strikes.
He further wrote that the politically motivated statements made by Congress leaders will lower the morale of our armed forces while raising the morale of terrorists. He alleged that the party lacks a feeling of nationalism and that people of the country consider Congress party an agent of Pakistan. He said that country comes before the party for him, therefore, he is resigning as the spokesperson and a member of the party in the interest of the nation.
