Continuing the Opposition’s tradition of hurling abuses towards Prime Minister Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu called Prime Minister Modi a ‘demon for minorities’. Addressing a rally in Andhra Pradesh’s Rayachoti, the former NDA ally even indulged in fearmongering by blaming PM Modi for 2002 Gujarat riots. He added that Modi wants to put minorities in jail through the triple talaq legislation.
“In Narendra Modi’s governance, who among you minorities are happy? Are you happy? Every day people are getting scared. Attacks in UP, assault on girl children in J&K. In the same way, they wanted to bring in Triple Talaq legislation and put our minorities in jail,” Naidu said addressing a rally.
Apparently, it is not just PM Modi but even his supporters have come under attack from the opposition. A JDS MLA, Shivaling Gowda lashed out on BJP supporters for chanting pro-Modi slogans. “Crush the jaws of those who come and shout ‘Modi, Modi’,” Gowda said addressing a rally.
Recently, Karnataka Congress MLA B Narayan Rao had called PM Modi ‘namard’, triggering a row.“Those who are namard can get married but can’t have children, PM Modi can get married but can’t have children. This is not a PM who works, but a PM who lies,” he had said.
Prior to that, Congress leader and actress Vijaya Shanti had equated PM Modi to a terrorist. While addressing a rally in Shamshabad, Telangana Shanti said, “Everyone is scared that at what moment Modi will shoot the bomb. He looks like a terrorist. Instead of loving people, he is scaring people. It’s not the way how a PM should be.” Shockingly, this disgraceful statement was made in the presence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, but knowing his disposition it is only obvious that there was no condemnation for his side.
In fact, Karnataka Congress leader Belur Gopalakrishna had also called for the assassination of Prime Minister Modi.
With the first round of voting just days away, the attacks may just get worse with elected public representatives putting all kind of civilities and public decorum on the backburner to upstage each other in showering choicest abuses towards each other.
