As per reports, HM Rajnath Singh said, “We have conducted successful strikes three times. You all know about two of them, not the third. In Uri, 17 of our soldiers were killed by Pakistan’s terrorists. Our soldiers decided to take revenge and everyone knows what happened after that. The second one happened recently, after the Pulwama attack. I cannot give details about the third one.”
The home minister added that the India of now is the new India, it will no longer stand quiet and let terror attacks go unavenged.
Stating that Pakistan will have to pay a ‘heavy price’ for sheltering and supporting terrorists working against India, Rajnath Singh stated that India will not provoke Pakistan, but will not tolerate provocation from Pakistan either.
In September 2016, the army camp at Uri was attacked by Pakistan based terrorists. 17 Indian soldiers were martyred in the attack. On September 29, soldiers of the India parachute regiment had crossed the LoC and had decimated several terrorist launch pads, killing dozens of terrorists waiting to infiltrate into India.
On 14 February, 40 CRPF jawans were martyred when a Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist rammed an explosive-loaded car on to a CRPF convoy. 12 days after the attack, several Mirage 2000s from the Indian Air Force had entered deep inside Pakistani territory and dropped several SPICE 2000 bombs on a JeM terror camp, vapourising the facility with several hundred terrorists within.
