Been in the war of the elements ever since she has been brought in by the BJP as their candidate representing the Bhopal parliamentary constituency for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, has once again stoked controversy by making a bold admission, saying that she will help in the construction of Ram temple and nobody can stop us from doing that. “Ram Rashtra hain, Rashtra Ram hain (Ram is Nation, Nation is Ram)”, ANI quotes Sadvi Pragya as saying.
Pragya Singh Thakur, BJP’s Bhopal candidate: Yes, I had gone there (Ayodhya), I had said it y’day too, not denying it. I had demolished the structure. I will go there & help in the construction of Ram temple, nobody can stop us from doing that, Ram rashtra hain, rashtra Ram hain. pic.twitter.com/d1g5kBA8Az

She acknowledged playing an instrumental role in razing the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992 and admitted that she will now help build the Ram Mandir at the disputed place.
In an exclusive interview with AajTak, Sadhvi Pragya said, “Why would we regret the demolition of the Babri Masjid? We are, in fact, proud of it. There were some waste products of the Ram temple and we removed it. This has awakened the self-respect of our country and we will construct a grand Ram temple.”
While campaigning in Bhopal, she had claimed that she climbed atop the Babri Masjid and helped demolish the religious structure.“Maine dhanche pe chadh ke toda tha. Mujhe bhayankar garv hai ki Ishwar ne mujhe avsar diya aur shakti di aur maine yeh kam kar diya. Ab wahin Ram Mandir banayenge.” (I climbed atop the structure to break it. I am tremendously proud that God gave me the opportunity and the strength to do it. And I did it. We wiped off a blot on the country. Now we will build the Ram temple there.)
This is the second controversial statement made by the Sadhvi Pragya after her candidature has been announced by the BJP. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has served her a notice for her remarks on the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition. Earlier in the day she had received another notice by the Election Commission for her remarks on former Mumbai ATS Chief late Hemant Karkare.
Speaking at a public meeting, while sharing her ordeal about how she had to go through unimaginable custodial torture for allegations of involvement in the 2008 Malegaon Blast case, she implied that Hemant Karkare died at the hands of terrorists because he tortured a Sadhvi.
An FIR had been registered against Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur by a Congress leader Devendra Singh in Indore for her remarks about late Hemant Karkare.
Sadhvi had later withdrawn her statement and apologised for her remarks about Hemant Karkare saying that she was sharing her personal experience.
Clarifying its position on Hemant Karkare the BJP called Sadhvi’ remarks about Karkare as her personal view which she might have formed due to years of physical and mental torture.
Sadhvi Pragya was granted bail in April 2017 in the 2008 Malegaon Blast case after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) failed to provide any conclusive evidence against her. She is contesting from Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency against Congress candidate Digvijay Singh.
