‘Speedbreaker’ didi felt more pain due to the Balakot Strikes than those in Islamabad and Rawalpindi: PM Modi in Siliguri

"There is a speed breaker in West Bengal who you know by the name of Didi. This Didi is a speed breaker in your development," PM Narendra Modi said.

Ahead of his rally at Kolkata, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally at Bengal’s Siliguri. He launched a scathing attack on Mamata Banerjee for her stance on Balakot strikes and accused her of acting as an impediment in the development of the state.

“There is a speed breaker in West Bengal who you know by the name of Didi. This Didi is a speed breaker in your development,” PM Narendra Modi said. In this context, the Prime Minister highlighted the chit fund scams where people associated with the TMC are alleged to have benefited immensely.

He stated further, “The NDA government initiated the Ayushman Yojana to help the poor. The poor will receive free treatment up to Rs. 5 lakhs in case of illness. What did Speedbreaker Didi do? She put a break on this Yojana in Bengal.” Modi also said that Mamata Banerjee did not allow the PM Kisan Yojana to succeed as well.

In a scathing attack, Modi said that in the 2019 General Elections, on one side there is a government that takes strict action against terrorists and on the other, those who support the Pakistani narrative. Taking a dig at Mamata, he said, “When our soldiers killed terrorists after inside their homes, the pain that Didi felt in Kolkata was more than the pain felt in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.”

The Prime Minister also attacked the Congress party over its manifesto promise to amend the AFSPA. He said that people should vote not merely for the Bharatiya Janata Party or Narendra Modi but also for the honour of our security forces.
