The Assam Police on June 23, 2019, rescued a kidnapped girl child hailing from the Hojai district in Assam, from a hotel in Nashik, Maharashtra after 11 days of her abduction.
Assam’s Finance and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the news on Twitter and applauded the police for their swift job in tracing the abductor and rescuing the girl.
A young girl Geeta (name changed) kidnapped on June 12 from Jamunamukh, District – Hojai by one Md Jabed Ahmed has been traced to, and rescued from a hotel in Nashik in #Maharashtra.

According to reports, a young girl from Baliram, Jamunamukh named Geeta(name change) was abducted on June 12 from Jamunamukh in Hojai by a person named Md Jabed Ahmed. She was subsequently rescued from a hotel in Nashik by the Assam police.
The victim had gone missing on June 12, 2019, following which an FIR was lodged by the victim’s family. On the basis of the complaint registered by the victim’s family, the police intensified their investigation efforts and finally traced and rescued the girl from Nashik in Maharashtra. Md Jabed Ahmed, who hails from the same village as the victim is accused of kidnapping her and taking her away to Maharashtra.
