Newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs) from the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan had to struggle their way out through a crowd of media persons while leaving the Parliament after taking the oath today.
The actors-turned-politicians were flooded with questions and requests for pictures from media persons outside the Parliament. Initially, the two patiently posed for the pictures and answered the questions but later became uncomfortable as they failed to move past the media persons.

Mimi requested the media to move aside but they did not budge. They had to then move back into the Parliament and came out after the security personnel made way for them. At one point, Nusrat got defensive and put her arm around Mimi requesting the media not to push them.
“Aap dhakka nahin maar sakte sir, samajhiye baat ko (You cannot push us sir, please try to understand),” urged Nusrat.
Mimi and Nusrat were escorted to their vehicles by the security. However, the first time parliamentarians posed for pictures upon the request of the media after urging them to stand at a reasonable distance to click the pictures.
Nusrat and Mimi who were elected from Basirhat and Jadavpur constituencies respectively in the recent Lok Sabha elections took the oath in the Parliament today. They had earlier skipped the oath-taking on June 17 and 18 due to Nusrat’s wedding ceremony held in Turkey.
