The Police have deployed men in large numbers to prevent communal violence in the area.

An incident of bovine slaughter has been reported from Revatipur in Chhattisgarh under Ramchandrapur Police Station. The villagers are anguished and have demanded strict action be taken against the perpetrators. The Police have registered a case against unidentified miscreants in the matter.

Villagers have threatened an agitation if the Police don’t take adequate action over the incident. The Police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The officer in charge of the Police station has stated that remains of the slaughter have been sent to the forensic lab for testing. The post-mortem has confirmed that the slaughtered animal was indeed a cow.

The remains of the cow were discovered by villagers in the outskirts of the village. The Sarpanch of the village said that when he reached the spot after being informed by villagers, he found the spot littered with the horns, the skin and the head of the slaughtered animal. The Sarpanch also summoned people from the Muslim community to make it evident that the cow was slaughtered and the meat was transported for selling and consumption.

The villagers suspect that the crime was committed by people from the Muslim community. The Police have deployed men in large numbers to prevent communal violence in the area.
