Maharashtra Congress Working President Yashomati Thakur got into an argument with Maharashtra Police yesterday at St George Hospital. Thakur had gone to the hospital to visit Karnataka Congress MLA Shrimant Patil who is undergoing treatment there. Patil was admitted in the hospital after he complained of chest pain on Thursday.

Thakur argued with the hospital staff and the cops deployed there and insisted that she wanted to meet Patil. “I want to meet my MLA. I want to see my MLA”, said Thakur in the video.
Thakur was seen arguing and shouting at the police present there. Despite the police officials request her not to create a ruckus in the hospital, she kept screaming that the police has been bribed and has been acting on the behest of the Maharashtra government.
Thakur was seen threatening a female cop not to argue with her. She even manhandled a staff member from the hospital who was trying to pacify her. She then shouted at the staff member, “Paise khate ho saale Haramkhor“.
She reportedly asked the hospital staff as to how Patil was being treated for cardiac ailment when the hospital does not have a cardiac unit.
Accusing the BJP government in the State later, Thakur said that the police did not allow her to meet Patil on the instructions of the State government. “We helped him (Patil) during the Karnataka Assembly elections (held in 2018). So, I wanted to see him at the hospital. But the police stopped me from meeting him at the behest of the State government”, she alleged.
She also accused Patil’s son Shreenivas who was present at the hospital of not allowing her to meet his father. “He (Shreenivas) too, was against me meeting his father. He was the one who coordinated the election preparations with us during the Karnataka polls”, she said.
It is notable here that the Congress had claimed that their MLA Shrimant Patil had been ‘kidnapped’ by the BJP and has been forcibly taken to a hospital in Mumbai to keep him from attending the trust vote in Karnataka assembly. However, Patil had released a video message on Thursday and stated that he has been undergoing treatment in Mumbai and Congress’ claims are baseless.
