The Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has a piece of advice for Indian captain Virat Kohli before the semi-final against New Zealand in Manchester.
Tendulkar played six world cups for India but captained in none. However, all the captains use to take his advise and suggestions during the matches.
Talking to India Today, Tendulkar said, “Jadeja is one option I would like to throw on the table to team management. I feel if Dinesh Karthik is going to bat at No. 7 then possible Jadeja could be an option there because his left-arm spin can come in handy. In a big match, you would want a cover-up because we are playing just five bowlers.”
As per the master blaster, Mohammad Shami, who was rested for the last game against Sri Lanka, should be picked in the XI for the semi-final clash.
“I would also be tempted to bring back Mohammed Shami because against West Indies he was good at the same venue. When we talk about Old Trafford there are pleasant experiences for Shami, he came back into the team and picked up wickets. So I would be tempted to have him back,” Tendulkar said.
The group game between India and New Zealand was washed out due to rain. These two teams will face each other for the first time in the World Cup since 2003.
