Tamil Nadu: Boyfriend Amanullah arrested along with 8 others for luring 16-year-old into relationship then gang-raping her for 2 years

The Pollachi police have arrested nine accused - A Amanullah, Mohammed Ashif, A Mohammed Rafiq, J Syed Ibrahim, A Mohammed Ali, K David alias Senthilkumar, Irshad Basha, S Mohammed Khan and N Arun Nehru for raping a 16-year old minor for over two years.

Nine persons have been arrested by an all-women police team on Friday for the alleged rape a 16-year old minor girl on the outskirts of Pollachi in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, reports Times of India.

According to the reports, the Pollachi police have arrested nine accused – A Amanullah, Mohammed Ashif, A Mohammed Rafiq, J Syed Ibrahim, A Mohammed Ali, K David alias Senthilkumar, Irshad Basha, S Mohammed Khan and N Arun Nehru for allegedly raping a Class 10 minor girl for over two years. The incident came to light after the girl went missing on Thursday.

The horrific incident occurred when the minor girl had visited her boyfriend Amanullah’s residence. According to police sources, the gang rape took place at her boyfriend’s place, where she had gone to meet him.

The police said that the prime accused Amanullah lured her into a relationship and later he and his friends raped her. Amanullah had threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed anything.

The victim girl informed the police that she was sexually assaulted by nine places for over two years. The police said that one person named Prabhu has been absconding since the incident.

“On Thursday, Amanullah picked her up from the village and raped her along with his friend Bagavathi. When she requested them to drop her at her home, the duo refused and invited their friend Prabhu to rape her. Her relatives came to know about the incident when she returned on Friday. They approached the Pollachi all-women police,” the officer said.

The accused have been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and section 366 (A) of IPC for the gang rape of the class 10 student, said police at the Pollachi all women’s police station.
