“When will he learn to place country over politics?” Tejasvi Surya slams Rahul Gandhi for his attack on PM Modi over Trump’s comment

Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar issued a statement in both Houses of Parliament wherein he categorically mentioned that Prime Minister Modi had not requested Trump for any mediation on Kashmir issue.

After over twelve hours had passed since the controversy erupted over Trump’s Kashmir statement, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had finally taken to Twitter yesterday, to react on US President Donald Trump’s gaffe on the issue of third party mediation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Now, reacting sharply to the Gandhi scions Tweet, in which he claimed that PM Modi has betrayed the interest of the country and the 1972 Shimla Agreement, the Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya slammed the Congress ex-president saying, “A categorical rejection is never enough for the newly elected MP from Wayanad, be it from the people of Amethi or from a Cabinet rank Minister! It almost feels like RG’s only objective here is to strain Indo-US friendship! When will he learn to place country over politics?!”

Rahul Gandhi expressing trust in Donald Trump over the Indian Prime Minister had also rejected the clarification given by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in the Rajya Sabha, terming the denial “weak”.

This deliberate attack the Gandhi scion came even as Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar issued a statement in both Houses of Parliament wherein he categorically mentioned that Prime Minister Modi had not requested Trump for any mediation on Kashmir issue. He asserted that Kashmir is a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and there would be no involvement of any third party.

“I assure the House categorically that no such request has been made by PM to the US President. I also reiterate that it has been India’s consistent position that all outstanding issues with Pakistan are discussed bilaterally. Any engagement with Pakistan would require an end to cross-border terrorism,” said Jaishankar.

“The Shimla Agreement and the Lahore declaration provide the basis to resolve all issues between India and Pakistan bilaterally,” he added.

Yet, the regular hate mongers, which includes a section of trolls from the media and politics and the Congress, of course, jumped to this opportunity to train guns at PM Narendra Modi.

While the former was busy spreading falsehood regarding India’s stand despite clarification from the MEA, Congress treated this opportunity to attack PM Modi. Making full use of this opportunity, Congress, yesterday, also gave an adjournment motion notice in the Lok Sabha over Trump’s remarks.
