Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan’s desperation is making him do several outlandish things. Though PM Modi has categorically specified that the Kashmir issue is our ‘internal matter’, Imran Khan is somehow not willing to relinquish. He on Friday dialled up the Crown Prince of the UAE Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed to apprise him of the developments in Jammu and Kashmir.
Amusingly this comes after Zayed on Monday conferred the UAE’s highest civilian award ‘Order of Zayed’ on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Imran Khan informed the Crown Prince about the weeks-long curfew in Jammu and Kashmir which has resulted in dire human rights and humanitarian situation, as presumed by the Pakistan Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Imran Khan, who is in a habit to lie through his teeth, underlined that India’s alleged ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC) had intensified.
Continuing his rhetorics, Khan also claimed that there was a serious possibility of “false flag operation” that India may stage to divert the world’s attention from its “crimes” in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Prime Minister said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir were looking for strong support of the Islamic States,” according to a statement issued by the PMO. Imran Khan said that the people of Pakistan had high hopes from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries, including the UAE.
It becomes imperative here to remind Imran Khan that PM Modi’s personal diplomatic outreach has yielded great results for India as far as the Muslim world is concerned. Its relationship with Islamic nations is better than ever before. Several other Islamic nations have also honoured PM Modi with their highest civilian award in the recent past, and none of them have objected to India’s decisions on Jammu and Kashmir.
Since India has gone ahead to abrogate Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and also bifurcate the state into two Union Territories, Pakistan has not left any stone unturned in trying to create tensions fro India but has remained unsuccessful.
Probably it’s this setback which is making Imran Khan’s loose his mental balance. In his desperation, he forgets that UAE was amongst the various other nations which had backed India on Article 370 agreeing that it is India’s internal matter.
Moreover, UEA had recently conferred PM Narendra Modi with ‘The King Hamad Order of the Renaissance’ by King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the ‘Order of Zayed’, the highest civilian honour of UAE.
Interestingly, this decision of the UAE to honour India’s Prime Minister had spooked Pakistan to the extent that it had decided to skip its pre-scheduled trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani had decided to cancel an official visit of his parliamentary delegation to the UAE over Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi receiving the highest civilian honour in UAE.
