The intel says that local terror groups such as Hizbul Mujahideen have been instructed by Pakistan based terror commanders to co-ordinate and collaborate with Pakistan based terror organisations to plant IEDs in South Kashmir and Srinagar in future. Highly trained cadres of JeM from its Peshawar camps are identified to carry out IED attacks on the Indian Armed Forces in Sopore and other South Kashmir towns. Earlier this year in February, a terrorist trained by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed had driven an explosive laden SUV on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama claiming lives of 40 CRPF soldiers.
Yesterday, in a press conference chaired by JK police, Chinar Corps and CRPF, Lt General KJS Dhillon had revealed the recovery of M-24 sniper rifle from the Amarnath Yatra route and Pakistani made IEDs recovered from places in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier today, the CRPF’s Rapid Action Force also reached Jammu amidst reports of major troop movements in the valley.
