It is Hindus, not Muslims who disturb peace: Ayodhya Muslim parties’ lawyer Rajeev Dhavan makes outrageous remarks

This is not the first time people might have witnessed this kind of reprehensible conduct from the Muslim Party lawyer. During the last day of the hearing on Ram Janmabhoomi case, Rajeev Dhavan had an epic meltdown when he shredded papers and maps handed over to him by the Hindu Mahasabha.

The Supreme Court in a historic decision had established that the Hindus have a right on the entire 67-acre Ram Janmabhoomi and had granted an alternate 5-acre land to the Muslims to build their Masjid. Though this decision has been welcomed by almost everyone, Senior Advocate Rajeev Dhavan, who has been representing the Muslim parties, does not seem to be too pleased with the apex court’s verdict who has gone on record to make various provocative remarks.

Rajeev Dhavan showing complete disrespect for the apex body said in an address to Muslim Parties that “Injustice has been done to Muslims” and that “unless SC ‘reverses the injustice’, you won’t see justice” says Rajeev Dhavan.

In what could be seen as a clear provocation, the senior advocate said that “Muslims have never disturbed the peace, only Hindus disturbed atmosphere”. He blamed RSS for stoking riots, saying that many probe reports have found RSS to be guilty.

Talking about Sunni Waqf Board’ decision to not file a review petition against the SC verdict on Ayodhya, the senior advocate said that they have taken this decision under immense pressure.

He went on to castigate the chairman of the Sunni Waqf Board, Zafar Ahmad Farooqui by saying that since he has an FIR against him he is subject to the pressure of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, hinting that it is under Adityanath’s pressure that Farooqui decided that they will not file a review petition against the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ayodhya dispute.

Yesterday, Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board had decided not to challenge the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya dispute. Meanwhile, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has today come up with the decision to file a review petition in the Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya case.

These remarks from a senior lawyer have stoked severe outrage. Condemning the lawyer for his provocative statements, BJP has slammed Rajeev Dhavan and urges Bar Council to send him a notice. Calling it unethical and unprofessional, BJP’ Subramanian Swamy said that this can be taken note of under the Advocate’s Act and urged the Bar Council to take cognisance of the same.
