In the wake of the gruesome murder and gang-rape of the veterinary doctor Preeti Reddy (name changed) in Hyderabad, an anguished business conglomerate Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to express his shock and dismay at the sexual depravity and brutality of the incident.
Take my shock, sadness & anger as a given. I want to understand how we can, throughout this country, prevent this epidemic of sexual depravity & violence. How can each one of us make women & children feel safe from predators? I want ideas which help us all be more accountable… https://t.co/CJlhMmJjAD

Mahindra reached out to the Twitterverse seeking ideas from the social media users to ensure safety of women and children in the country and increase accountability of every one of us.
Preeti Reddy (name changed) was subjected to gut-wrenching act of enormity by 4 individuals who are now under arrest. As she was returning home from work a little after 8 pm to pick her vehicle, she noticed a flat tyre. She immediately called her sister, who suggested that she leave her two-wheeler at the toll plaza and take a cab home. Before she could, two men approached her, who offered to take her vehicle for repair.
The woman was allegedly ambushed and dragged into the bushes by the accused barely 50 metres from Tondupally toll plaza behind a line of trucks that was parked near the road. Her charred body was found under an underpass today morning.
According to police, the accused took her body to an under-construction bridge a few kilometres away and set it on fire. The police stated that the victim’s innerwear and some other objects including an alcohol bottle found around 100 metres from the spot led them to believe she was sexually assaulted before being killed.
The Telangana police have also confirmed that Preeti Reddy (name changed) was kidnapped and gang-raped. The police confirmed that a lorry driver named Mohammad Pasha from Narayanpet in Mahababub Nagar district was the main suspect in the Preeti Reddy (name changed) case. Media reports are now saying that rape has been confirmed in post mortem analysis.
A prolific Twitter user, Anand Mahindra is known for being vocal on issues of social and economic importance. Recently, Mahindra shared a Whatsapp forward of a cobbler who he said should be teaching Marketing skills at the Indian Institutes of Management.
Got it on whatsapp. No clue who or where he is or how old this pic is. If anyone can find him and he’s still doing this work I’d like to make a small investment in his ‘startup’. https://t.co/A8kdJTvAN1

The photo he tweeted displayed a cobbler surrounded by footwear. The board behind him read the shoe repair shop as a “hospital” for “injured” shoes, mentioning Dr Narseeram as the doctor on duty. The board also mentioned the timing for the OPD where the doctor can be consulted with the injured (torn/broken) shoes as patients.
Anand posted a tweet asking for Twitter users to help him track the whereabouts of the cobbler as he intended to make a small investment in his “start-up”. In less than two weeks, Mahindra’s team tracked the cobbler in Haryana and are currently working in the best possible manner to help him in his business venture.
Recall my tweet about Narseeji, the cobbler? Our team in Harayana met him&asked how we could help.A simple&humble man.Instead of asking for money,he said he needed a good workspace. I asked our Design Studio team from Mumbai to design a kiosk that was functional&yet aesthetic.(1/2) pic.twitter.com/Oefr69yAy1
