‘Who cares about Brahmins!’ Marathi journalist Nikhil Wagle bares his casteist fangs as NCP-Congress gain power in Maharashtra

It is widely known that even in Maharashtra politics, anti-Brahmin hatred runs rife. Devendra Fadnavis, who is a Brahmin himself, had to suffer numerous personal attacks due to his caste. Despite the fact that he was immensely popular due to his work as Chief Minister, the Opposition made his caste the primary line of attack against him.

Compulsive hatemonger and alleged journalist Nikhil Wagle has resorted once again to fomenting caste tensions in Maharashtra. Nikhil Wagle claims that Brahmins are unhappy with Devendra Fadnavis’s exit from the Chief Minister’s office and claimed that ‘Bahujans’ and people in rural areas are very happy with his removal from power.

Nikhil Wagle, who is obviously overjoyed by the fact that the opportunistic alliance between Shiv Sena, NCP and the Congress securing power in Maharashtra, didn’t stop there and went on to proclaim, “Who cares for 3% Brahmins!”

Amusingly enough, Nikhil Wagle is the same person who waxes eloquence about the necessity of ‘politics of development’ and claims that ‘politics of caste’ cannot take us forward. However, underneath such lofty proclamations lies a casteist bigot who seeks to incite caste tensions in the country.

Nikhil Wagle is a known Modi-hater and has an extremely chequered past. In the past, he has called the dreaded terrorist and mastermind of the 26/11 terror attack Hafiz Saeed as ‘Hamara Apna‘. He has also spread Fake News in abundant measure and blamed others when caught. Wagle has also used the tragic death of children to further his agenda against the BJP.

Unfortunately, as disgusting a person as Wagle is, anti-Brahmin hatred is extremely mainstream in the ‘intellectual’ circles of the country. For instance, Tamil Nadu is home to vicious anti-Brahmin propaganda that reminds one of the Nazi propaganda against Jews. An activist associated with Amnesty International has peddled anti-Brahmin hatred in the past and called for violence against Brahmins.

When Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey came to India, he met numerous leftist activists and raised a placard that said ‘Smash Brahminical Patriarchy‘. Even something so inane as a brand of Sambar Powder did not escape the wrath that Leftists harbour against Brahmins. Even Bollywood has a significant strain of anti-Brahmin hatred ingrained that leads to movies such as Article 15 which further thinly-veiled anti-Brahmin propaganda.
