4 arrested in Shadnagar rape and murder case confess, 2 of them had returned to the site to check if her body was charred completely

They had doused the body after raping the doctor and it is now being reported that the accused had come back to the spot to ensure that her body was charred beyond recognition.

The four accused in the gruesome Preeti Reddy (name changed) case, Md Pasha, Naveen from Gudigandla, cleaner Kesavulu, and an assistant named Siva have confessed to their crime, say the police. They had doused the body after raping the doctor and it is now being reported that the accused had come back to the spot to ensure that her body was charred beyond recognition.

According to a report in Telangana Today, after setting the body on fire under the culvert at Chatanpally in Shadnagar between 2 am and 2.30 am, the gang left the crime spot in the truck and on the scooter. However, while Arif and Chennakeshavulu went away, Shiva and Naveen, who were on the scooter, returned to the spot a little later to check if the body was completely burnt.

V C Sajjanar, Police Commissioner, Cyberabad said, “They came to the spot to check if the body was burnt beyond recognition. They then rode the scooter and abandoned it at Kothur, about 11 kilometres from the culvert”.

The four accused in the Preeti Reddy (name changed) case, who have confessed to their crime will be produced in court today.

The four accused had pre-planned the crime after they had noticed that the victim had parked her two-wheeler at the Tondupally toll plaza. The accused assumed that the lady would come to pick it up later in the evening. The accused then flattened the tyre.

As Preeti Reddy was returning home from work a little after 8 pm to pick her vehicle, she noticed a flat tyre. She immediately called her sister, who suggested that she leave her two-wheeler at the toll plaza and take a cab home. Before she could, two men approached her, who offered to take her vehicle for repair.

The woman was then ambushed and dragged into the bushes by the accused barely 50 metres from Tondupally toll plaza behind a line of trucks that was parked near the road. Her charred body was found under an underpass today morning.

According to police, the accused took her body to an under-construction bridge a few kilometres away and set it on fire. The police stated that the victim’s innerwear and some other objects including an alcohol bottle found around 100 metres from the spot led them to believe she was sexually assaulted before being killed. The rape of the victim has been confirmed by the post mortem analysis now.

The police confirmed that a lorry driver named Mohammad Pasha from Narayanpet in Mahababub Nagar district is the main suspect.
