A person accused of molestation, who was recently released on bail, pursued the victim and attacked her in the Korba district of Chhattisgarh. According to the sources, the assailant chased the victim on the streets before attacking her with a sickle. It is pertinent to note that the assaulter was released on bail a few days ago for sharing on Internet an objectionable video of the victim.

When OpIndia contacted the Korba police, they confirmed that the assailant had attacked the victim. The police mentioned that the assaulter is currently being tended in the hospital after which he is going to be lodged in the jail while the victim was shifted to the Shri Balaji Trauma hospital where her condition remains critical. The police have registered a case of attempt to murder under IPC section 307 against the culprit.
A few months ago, the assailant Indrapal Tonde (40) started living in the Lormi area of Mungeli where the victim lived with her family. He started developing one-sided feelings for the woman. Sensing heightened interest of the man in the woman, the family of the woman shifted their residence to Khaprabhatta area of Budhwari. However, Indrapal soon followed them there and started living in a house nearby. Some conflicting reports state that the two had an illegal relationship in the past.
In October, Indrapal secretly made a video of the woman while she was taking a bath in the courtyard and uploaded it on the Internet. When the woman came to know about this, she asked Indrapal to pull down the video, but he did not comply. So the woman lodged a police complaint against Indrapal after which the accused was sent to jail. However, he managed to secure bail only a few days ago.
On Friday morning, the accused Indrapal attacked the woman with a sickle while she was alone at her home. In order to save herself from Indrapal’s violent onslaught, the woman ran into a nearby locality but the accused chased her down and continued to beat her. He was eventually caught by the local people and handed over to the police.
