Even as the assembly elections in Delhi are underway, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has made a sexist appeal, asking the women voters in Delhi to discuss with the male members of their families before casting their votes. Kejriwal took to Twitter to issue an appeal to the women voters in Delhi to have a discussion with their male family members before deciding upon the choice of their candidate.

“Special appeal to all women – Just as you take the responsibility of your homes, so is the responsibility of the country and Delhi on your shoulders. All you ladies must go to vote and also take the men of your house. Make sure to discuss with men who will be the right candidate to vote for,” Kejriwal tweeted.
Kejriwal’s sexist remark during Delhi elections about heeding their male counterparts’ counsel while voting drew ire from the opposition who slammed him for his controversial appeal. Union Minister Smriti Irani questioned Kejriwal on his intentions asking doesn’t he think women are capable of deciding on their own whom to vote.
