“Rajmata would be elated, good to be on the same team” Jyotiraditya Scindia’s aunt Vasundhara Raje welcomes him to BJP

Rajmata Vijaya Raje, also a former Congress leader, quit the party to join the Jana Sangh.

Senior BJP leader Vasundhara Raje welcomed her nephew former Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia to the BJP. Taking to Twitter, she invoked her mother, Rajmata Vijaya Raje, also a former Congress leader who quit the party to join the Jana Sangh.

The ex-Rajasthan CM said that Rajmata (Vijayaraje Scindia), would have been elated to see him put the nation first. “I admire your strength of character and courage. It’s good to be on the same team,” she said. Her late brother, a senior Congress leader himself, Madhavrao Scindia, too, was part of the Jana Sangha before leaving the party to join the Congress. Madhavrao Scindia was killed in an unfortunate plane crash in 2001.

Yesterday, his other aunt and senior BJP leader Yashodhara Raje, too, welcomed Scindia even before he formally joined the BJP and called it ‘Ghar Wapasi’.

Scindia resigned from Congress on 9th March, 2020, Monday along with 20 MP Congress MLAs. This has sent shockwaves through Congress. The MP state government is on the verge of a collapse with the developments.
