Uttar Pradesh: Hindu organisations protest after the severed remains of a calf found in Awagarh

Members of the Hindu organisation also demanded that the police take appropriate action against those operating meat shops and hotels near Hindu temples.

In the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh, remains of a dead calf were found at a vacant plot. Following this, Hindu organisations staged a protest outside the Awagarh Police Station in Sai Colony. After learning about the matter, Circle Officer (CO) Jalesar, Raghavendra Singh Rathore, reached the spot and promised to take action. Additionally, a case has been registered at the Awagarh police station.

On January 12, a calf’s severed head and skin were found near a vacant plot in Sai Colony. Shubham Hindu and other Hindu Ekta Samuh members protested when they learned of this and demanded strict action against the perpetrators. Members of the Hindu organisation also demanded that the police take appropriate action against those operating meat shops and hotels near Hindu temples.

Taking to Twitter, the founder of Hindu Ekta Samuh, Shubham, wrote, “Hindu Ekta Group gheraoed Awagarh police station for not filing a case of cow slaughter in Sai Colony and demanded the closure of non-vegetarian hotels and meat shops near temples. Also asked CO Jalesar and station in-charge Awagarh to register a case against cow slaughter.

On Friday, Etah Police in reply to a tweet posted by Shubham Hindu stated, “In this case, the local police conducted an immediate on-the-spot medical examination of the remains and discovered that the cattle’s remains had been eaten by wild animals. However, necessary legal action is being taken.”
