“You’re a Pakistani. Halala ki aulaad ho tum log (You guys are the offsprings of Halala),” expressed an infuriated Uber driver in Delhi during an argument with a couple. The video has gone viral on social media in which the man can be seen getting angry at a Pakistani man and his girlfriend. He accused the pair of insulting the people of Delhi which he couldn’t tolerate and asked them to step out of the four-wheeler and then left them in the middle of the road. The incident reportedly transpired on the night of 9th August.

The taxi driver initially warned the duo not to offend Delhiites and asserted that he would not put up with it, as witnessed in the widely shared footage. While filming the video, the girl retorted that the person seated next to her hadn’t said anything like that and was instead criticizing the people of Delhi for being selfish. She then argued that no one opposes when Mumbai people talk negatively about Delhiites, but if a Pakistani voices anything, then it becomes unacceptable/ a problem. Furthermore, she pointed out that the cabbie shouldn’t have brought up his Brahmin caste in the conversation.
The cab driver also tried to explain his point of view, which further escalated the matter, following which he refused the two passengers to drop them at their destination. The girl meanwhile claimed, “It is 12:30 in the night and this man is dropping us on the road. See, this is Modi ji’s India,” while blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the incident to which the driver replied, “Yes, this is Hindustan. This is not your Pakistan. You are a product of halala.” Halala is a process, where a Muslim couple wants to tie the knot after their divorce, and they get someone to agree to wed the woman, consummate the relationship and divorce her so that she can remarry her previous husband.
Netizens are now expressing their views on the clip with many supporting the actions of the driver. They stated that the cab driver understood what the female failed, which highlights the difference between individuals like her and those who are nationalists.
